WHAT IS A FANLISTING?
According to TFL.org, a fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are), they are just a place where you can sign up with other fans.
ABOUT THE GAME
Helltaker is a free to play indie puzzle-adventure game with dating sim elements created and designed by Polish developer vanripper (Łukasz Piskorz), with music composed by Mittsies. Released on May 11, 2020 for Windows, Mac, and Linux, it’s described as a “short game about sharply dressed demon girls.”
In Helltaker, you play as the titular Helltaker, who woke up one day set on a quest to descend into hell and build a harem of demon girls. Over the course of the game, the harem becomes increasingly more dysfunctional, with the Helltaker admitting that all he can offer is "coffee, turn-based strategies and chocolate pancakes". In the final epilogue level, the Helltaker and his harem live together on Earth, and the game ends with him opening the door to police.
In the game, the player progresses through a series of puzzle stages with a set number of moves, with the goal of reaching a demon girl at the end. Upon initiating conversation with the girl, the player must select an answer based on her personality. If chosen correctly, the girl is successfully recruited into the harem. If chosen incorrectly, the player dies.
Helltaker is free to play on Steam and itch.io! If you’d like to financially support the developer vanripper, there is also paid DLC containing an artbook full of sprites and concept art for the game, and a delicious chocolate pancake recipe.
There are some suggestive poses and dialogue present in the game, but it’s otherwise rather clean. I’d personally give it a Teen rating.
MEET THE CHARACTERS
PANDEMONICA, THE TIRED AND SADISTIC DEMON
You won't like this demon AFTER she's had her coffee! Though on the surface she's polite, elegant, and hard-working, once Pandemonica's had her coffee she can become pretty sadistic.
MODEUS, THE LUSTFUL DEMON
Though lustful and hypersexual, Modeus is quite naive to the concept of romance and can become rather flustered with the prospect of dating.
CERBERUS, THE TRIPLE DEMON
Happy-go-lucky, and as easily excitable as a group of puppies, although Cerberus has three bodies, they're controlled by just a single soul.
MALINA, THE SOUR DEMON
She acts hard to get, but maybe you'll figure her out! Grumpy and irritable, much like a "Sour Demon" would be, Malina's biggest two loves in this life are video games and alcohol.
ZDRADA, THE B**** DEMON
Malina's masochistic sister. She's always got a cigarette in hand and loves watching others, herself included, inflict pain on themselves.
AZAZEL, THE CURIOUS ANGEL
Bright-eyed and curious, Azazel's ventured down into Hell to collect information on Demons. She seems to get rather flustered around the Demon girls.
JUSTICE, THE AWESOME DEMON
Chill, laid-back, and a bit of a jokester, Justice is probably the friendliest Demon you'll encounter in Hell. Her and Lucifer are friends.
LUCIFER, THE CEO OF HELL
The Queen and CEO of Hell, Lucifer, sometimes called "Lucy", can be very demanding and controlling. Luckily, she has a thing for pancakes, and can be easily won over with them.
JUDGEMENT, THE HIGH PROSECUTOR
The High Prosecutor of Hell and the final boss of the game, Judgement wants to make you suffer. However, you might be surprised to find her sadistic personality is a front, and that she's actually one of the kindest Demons in the game.
BEELZEBUB, THE GREAT FLY
The Narrator of the game, referred to sometimes as "Beel". Though grandmotherly on the surface, once you get to know her she's very grandiose and self-absorbed. She's also apparently the most dangerous demon in the game.
LOREMASTER, THE SCIENCE DEMON
Exclusive to the bonus Examtaker chapter, Loremaster is new ruler of Hell. She's obsessed with knowledge and research, mercilessly so much like a mad scientist, and rather cheerful, yet immature. Rumor has it she's a fallen angel.
THE HELLTAKER
The titular protagonist, and the character you play as in the game. He plans on venturing down into Hell to build a harem of Demon girls. He may find he has his work cut out for him, though...
