WHAT IS A FANLISTING?
According to TFL.org, a fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are), they are just a place where you can sign up with other fans.
ABOUT THE GAME
Hollow Knight is an indie metroidvania game developed and published by Australian dev team Team Cherry (composed of Ari Gibson, William Pellen, Jack Vine, and David Kazi) with an exciting orchestral soundtrack composed by Christopher Larkin. Released on February 24, 2017 for Windows, April 11 of that year for Mac and Linux, and in 2018 for the Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Xbox One, Hollow Knight is described as an "epic action adventure [where you forge your own path] through a vast ruined kingdom of insects and heroes."
In Hollow Knight, you play as a small, nameless insectoid warrior simply only known as the Knight, who explores the ruined kingdom of Hallownest, which has been taken over by a mysterious plague simply only referred to as "The Infection". Throughout the game, the player traverses various underground locations belonging to the old kingdom of Hallownest, meeting other bugs, both friendly and hostile, while uncovering the kingdom's lore and secrets.
Hollow Knight is a 2D side-scrolling metroidvania featuring melee combat and spells, the latter of which can be charged and cast using soul. On the player's journey in Hallownest, they can collect various new skills and upgrade their existing ones. Enemies in the game drop a currency called "Geo", which can be traded in shops for key items and charms. If the player dies, an enemy called a Shade appears in their place, and they have to travel back to the place of their death and defeat the Shade to regain their lost currency and soul.
On all platforms where its available, Hollow Knight costs $15 USD, and includes 4 free content packs: Hidden Dreams, The Grimm Troupe, Lifeblood, and Godmaster. As of 2019, it's been announced that Team Cherry is currently developing a sequel to the game entitled Hollow Knight: Silksong where the playable character is a major character from the first game, Hornet. The sequel game has no confirmed release date yet.
